This drive-in/ drive-out classic itinerary showcases the best of Bhutan within a short period of
time. It traverses through the commercial hub town of Phuentsholing to vibrant Thimphu, and
onward to the agrarian belts in Paro. We pass through a kaleidoscope of scenic attractions of
ancient monasteries and temples which sit atop ridges and overlook soulful valleys amid
fluttering prayer flags which evoke a complete picture of serenity and tranquillity

  • Fly into Bagdogra airport, or travel by train to NJP, Alipur or Hashimara, or travel
    from Darjeeling, Gangtok and Kalimpong
  • Cross border to reach Phuentsholing and check-in hotel.
  • Visit Zangto Pelri Lhakhang and Phuentsholing town market
  • Stroll through the market in the evening
  • Overnight in Phuentsholing
  • Complete immigration formalities and drive to Thimphu
  • En-route visit Rinchending monastery and stop in villages and scenic spots
  • Visit Thimphu Dzong and take a walking tour in capital city
  • Visit Thimphu Dzong, Bhutanese Crafts market and Clock Tower Square area
  • Overnight in Thimphu
  • Drive from Thimphu to Punakha across Dochula pass (3,050m)
  • Visit impressive Punakha Dzong at the confluence of the two rivers
  • Visit Richengang village and Chimi Lhakhang temple
  • Trace back to Thimphu

  • Half day tour of Thimphu’s cultural sites and monuments
